Things a locksmith (too) can take care of
Today, a locksmith is much more than “just” a locksmith. Locksmiths are professional lock technicians who work with mechanical and electronic locks, access control, security, shop grilles, surveillance and more. It is therefore misunderstood by many that the only thing a locksmith does is open locks for people who have locked themselves out, or copy keys.
In this short article, we talk about the things a locksmith also does.
Digital access control
Digital access control covers a wide range of things and is what we do most. What they all have in common, however, is that they are systems that are largely digitally integrated and controlled centrally. You may have seen it in the form of access cards or chips that must be placed on a “scanner” after which a door opens automatically. This kind of system comes in many different shades, and since all companies have different needs, the solutions we create within digital and electronic controls are also very different from customer to customer.
A central solution means that you can control the access options for the individual card/bracelet/user right down to the smallest detail. And all from a central unit that just needs to be connected to the internet.
Automatic doors
Things a locksmith (too) can take care of
Door automation is one of the things we also do a lot of at Master Key Locksmith. Mostly because it speaks to all the other tasks we do. A good example is digital access control, as previously mentioned. An access card can set an automatic process in motion that opens a door, or gives the green light for an elevator to run. The solutions are many and things are connected.
There is a very large replacement of door automation underway throughout Tulsa, where doors that previously had to be opened manually with a key are 100% automated, so that a chip or card can be used to open the door. It is a good solution for many companies, municipalities and residents in multi-storey buildings, since with automatic door systems you can completely avoid having to touch the door or the door handle.
Cutting keys
Yes, it’s definitely not the only thing we do, but it’s still a big part of every locksmith’s business. Most home owners end up having to have new keys made at some point – or change their locks, for which new keys are required. And of course that is also something we do.
Cutting keys for simple locks is not rocket science, but some locks require special machines, tools, approvals, or special training to be able to cut them. There, we are always at the forefront of developments, so our employees know how to approach tasks in this context.
Alarm installations
Alarms have for many years been a preventive measure against unwanted visitors. Sometimes it is enough, other times it has to be combined with other types of measures – such as grids as previously mentioned.
An alarm system has many different options, both in terms of design and solutions, but also in terms of the way it can be combined with other systems. It can be connected with electronic locks, it can be connected with grids. There are many solutions, and we would be happy to have a chat with you about what exactly your needs are.
